What’s In This Honey Old Bay Salmon Recipe?

  • Salmon Fillets or Steaks – we got some delicious fresh salmon from a local fish market (fresh seafood is definitely a perk of living in New England!), but frozen salmon works just as good for this recipe. Make sure it’s thawed and pat dry with a paper towel before adding seasoning and cooking on the grill.
  • Whole Grain Mustard– the best thing for a really nice flavor and texture. Using a really good mustard makes all the difference, and I like to coat the entire surface of the salmon with it.
  • Honey:  I recommend trying a local farmers market to find the best raw honey in your area. Getting really good honey is a favorite of ours, and makes a difference in your recipes.
  • Old Bay seasoning – a classic spice blend that is traditionally used in seafood boils! If you can’t find Old Bay seasoning where you live, you can use a Cajun seasoning with black pepper instead.
  • Good Extra Virgin Olive Oil: I like to use this fruity olive oil which has a fantastic flavor and deep color- it’s inexpensive & I like to keep a few liters stocked up in my pantry.
  • Lemon Juice

Salmon Garnishes

You can add a few garnishes for a finishing touch to customize your salmon.

  • Lemon slices
  • Black Pepper
  • Red Pepper Flakes – for a little heat
  • Fresh herbs or dry parsley
