Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta I used a wide rice noodle
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 small chili peppers or 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cilantro for garnish

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Pan
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles in, and cook according to package instructions. Drain noodles, and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, chilis, and honey. Whisk well to combine.
  3. In a pan, heat the sesame oil and sauté the garlic for 3 to 4 minutes until it begins to turn golden brown. Add the soy sauce mixture, and whisk well to combine. Add the noodles, and stir for 4 to 5 minutes over high heat.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the corn starch and cold water together, until the corn starch dissolves. Add the corn starch slurry to the noodles, and stir well. Sauce will thicken in 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, and serve with fresh chopped cilantro and black pepper. Enjoy hot!
