Ingredients You’ll Love
Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!
- Old Fashioned Oats: I used old fashioned oats for this recipe. I found old fashioned oats work much better than quick oats, as they hold up really well when air fried.
- Walnuts: because I love adding nutritious ingredients to my foods when I can. I always have a few bags of these walnuts to add to breakfasts, salads, or smoothies.
- Honey: We use our own honey, straight out of the beehives!  I recommend trying a local farmers market to find the best raw honey in your area. Or else, this organic honey is is a favorite of ours. You could also substitute brown sugar for a vegan version.
- Coconut Oil: I always keep a few jars of this organic coconut oil on hand, it’s great for cooking and baking. You could also use olive oil if you don’t have coconut on hand.
- Vanilla Extract – the good stuff!
- Ceylon Cinnamon – we use organic Ceylon cinnamon, also known as true cinnamon.
- Flaxseeds – which I love for their nutty flavor.
Additions and Variations
- Add chocolate chips
- Add peanut butter or almond butter for extra nutty flavor.
- Chia seeds or sunflower seeds make a great extra crunchy granola.
- Add unsweetened coconut flakes for a tropical version.
- Add dried fruit like cranberries or cherries.
What To Enjoy With Granola
Granola is an easy breakfast idea, but it goes way beyond your morning meal! You can add it to your favorite yogurt, smoothie bowls, enjoy with milk and fresh fruits.
These crunchy clusters can be enjoyed for dessert too – add it to ice cream or top brownies with your own homemade granola.
How To Make This Recipe
- Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper (or a parchment paper liner).
- Add the dry ingredients: rolled oats and walnuts, and the wet ingredients: honey, coconut oil, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and flaxseeds to a large bowl. Mix with a wooden spoon until all ingredients are well combined.
- Place the granola mixture in an even layer on the parchment paper, and press the granola down with a spoon.
- Set the air fryer to 310 degrees Fahrenheit, and air fry the granola for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
- Carefully remove the parchment paper from the air fryer basket, and allow to fully cool at room temperature before enjoying. The granola will harden as it cools.
- Store in an airtight container or glass jar with a lid, and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
Dietary Modifications
- This recipe is vegetarian, because it uses honey. To make vegan, substitute maple syrup, brown sugar, or agave nectar for the honey.
- To make gluten free granola, ensure the oats and all other ingredients are certified gluten free on the packaging before using.
Perfect Breakfast Ideas in the Air Fryer
We have a super-quiet air fryer and we are in love with this thing! Since we don’t use a microwave, this air fryer is perfect for heating up things quickly. It’s been really fun to make all kinds of recipes (especially this granola!) and it’s great for reheating leftovers.
I’ve owned a few models, but highly recommend a quiet air fryer for anyone who loves to cook. I got this air fryer which is a perfect size for my kitchen, and also makes as a great gift for friends or family.
