Trader Joe’s Spring Rolls

There are a few different kinds of spring rolls sold at Trader Joes – fresh and frozen. This recipe gives directions for how to cook their frozen vegetable spring rolls. I love them because they are vegan, vegetarian, and taste amazing! You could also use this recipe with Trader joe’s chicken spring rolls or Kalua pork spring rolls.

The spring rolls don’t come with any dipping sauce, but they are so good with a little low sodium soy sauce, or even with a creamy citrus mustard sauce. When cooked, they are similar to egg rolls, but without the deep frying (and use much less oil)! This delicious appetizer doesn’t contain any animal products, making them a great option for those who eat plant-based!

Ingredients & Equipment You’ll Need

Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

Spring Rolls – I used the frozen vegetable spring rolls at Trader Joe’s. They come in a 5-pack and I was able to cook them at all once in my air fryer basket! Or try this with homemade spring rolls!

Air Fryer – I have a quiet kitchen top air fryer, with a basket. You can also use an air fryer that has trays as well.

Air Fryer parchment liner – optional, but I like to use these to reduce the mess.

Cooking spray – also optional, but I found that spraying on a little cooking spray before air frying gives the spring rolls an extra crunchy golden brown exterior.

Optional Ingredients for Serving

I made a creamy citrus mustard dipping sauce, which was perfect for these! You can also dip them in a mix of sesame oil, soy sauce. Or dip them in sweet chili sauce, sweet and sour sauce,  or a creamy peanut sauce – any tasty dipping sauce you prefer!

Serve with fried rice, Asian glass noodles, or spaghetti stir fry noodles!

Top with sesame seeds or green onion to garnish. Or on a bed of shredded green cabbage dressed with a little rice vinegar and olive oil.

How to Make this Recipe

  1. Remove spring rolls from package. And add a layer of parchment paper to line the bottom of your air fryer. Place the spring rolls in a single layer in your fryer basket. Spray with cooking spray, if desired.
  2. Set the air fryer to 350 degrees, and air fry for 6 minutes. Carefully flip each spring roll to the other side.
  3. Increase the temperature to 400 degrees, and cook spring rolls for an additional 4 minutes. The increase in temperature will help the outside crisp.
  4. Remove spring rolls from the air fryer carefully (they will be hot), and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
  5. Store leftover spring rolls in an airtight container for up to 1 day.
