This Cheeseburgers in Paradise recipe is the perfect party food to enjoy on a trip to Margaritaville! They’re a little sweet, a little savory, and a total crowd-pleaser. These easy sliders go great with chips and salsa, BBQ sides, and a tropical beverage of choice.

I love serving up a burger bar when we have friends over – complete with all the toppings: lettuce, tomato, onions, and of course plenty of extra cheese. Cocktail umbrellas are optional, but definitely recommended.

No Jimmy Buffett party is complete without cheeseburgers in paradise.  No matter who is invited, these little sliders will please everyone since people can choose their own toppings.

I love a good Jimmy Buffett-themed party, especially one when the weather is cold out and I want to be on a beach somewhere. It’s a fun theme all year long. Having a Margaritaville themed party is a great excuse to day-drink margaritas chance to get together with friends!

This recipe is one I created for dinner parties, it’s not an official or affiliated recipe from Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville chain. That being said, if you are anywhere near a Margaritaville restaurant, they are SO fun to stop in at!

What To Serve for a Margaritaville Party

Of course, Cheeseburgers in Paradise is a given… but you can have fun with side dishes.  I decided on Individual Vegan 7 Layer Dip (because I’m a Midwesterner and 7 layer dip is my heritage), my friend’s most requested recipe 4 Ingredient No Knead Bread, and a margarita bar for everyone.

This burger recipe is an Easy Entertaining dish, which can feed guests in about 30 minutes if you prep the patties beforehand.  These quick and simple recipes are perfect for cookouts, summer gatherings, party invites, or when you just want a fun homemade meal on the grill. These Easy Entertaining Recipes are great for friends, family, and guests.

Unfortunately Jimmy didn’t leave too many clues in his song, but here’s what we go with!

  • Ground Beef – the base of this dish.
  • Crushed Pineapple – which gives these little burgers a nice sweetness. I used canned pineapple, but you can use fresh pineapple minced finely.
  • Onion Powder: adds a delicious and savory flavor to this dish as well, and the onion powder is great to add flavor but also be mindful of your guests who may not like raw onions.
  • Worcestershire Sauce – I love using this really good Worcestershire sauce which gives this dish a ton of flavor!
  • Hawaiian Rolls for serving, they make the perfect slider buns.
  • Little drink umbrellas – because c’mon, you gotta!

One of the Best Summer Grilling Recipes for Guests

We absolutely love grilling (we got an XL Big Green Egg grill which has been a game-changer), and these little burgers are great for outdoor cooking. These sliders cook up quick, and are great to feed hungry guests!

There are a few grilling accessories that we love: our plancha grill pan which is great for veggies and stir fries, and a Dutch oven pot which I use to bake bread in while the grill is hot. We also get good use out of our meat thermometer which we always use to check the internal temperature of meats.

How Do I Make Cheeseburgers in Paradise?

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, egg, crushed pineapple, Wircestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  2. Form into small 2-inch patties, you should be able to make about 16 small patties. Place them on a plate, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until ready to cook.
  3. Get your grill (or indoor grill pan/cast iron skillet) to high heat – we like cooking around 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Add the burgers to the grill (or grill pan), and cook for 6 minutes. Flip, and cook for an additional 6 minutes on the second side. Add the cheese when you flip the burgers. The burgers are ready when the juices start to run clear on the sides of the burger. For a medium burger, the internal temperature should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit which you can check with a meat thermometer.
  5. Note: If cooking the pineapple slices, you can add them at the same time as the burgers to give them a nice char!
  6. Remove burgers from the grill once done, and assemble the sliders. Add one patty to each Hawaiian roll, 1 pineapple ring, and any toppings your guests desire. Enjoy!

These burgers were a huge hit, especially when topped with the little umbrellas!  The flavors of the burgers are great, and everyone loved the topping bar.  I also loved the pineapple in these too – it made the grill smell amazing while they were cooking!
