ingredients for protein cookie balls with monster cookies and M&Ms

This recipe has just 6 simple ingredients, which makes it easy and inexpensive to whip up anytime. It starts with rolled oats which give the main texture of these oat balls.

We also add peanut butter and honey for sweetness and also to keep the balls together when they are rolled.

You can use any protein powder you prefer – I like using a vanilla protein, but you can try this with chocolate, peanut butter, or caramel flavored! Let us know in the comments below which one you used.

And finally, these monster cookie balls have M&M candies as well as chocolate chips. Both types of chocolate give these protein bites a really nice sweetness and pop of color.

Additions and Substitutions

Instead of honey, you can use a maple syrup or agave nectar for plant-based sweetness. Both have a wonderful sticky texture that works perfectly in these bites.

You can use other types of chocolate too. You can try white chocolate chips or a different chocolate candy for new flavors and textures.

Instead of peanut butter, try making these with almond butter, sunbutter, or another nut butter instead.
