Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium shrimp peeled, deveined, and cooked
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup celery finely diced
  • 1 lemon juiced, about 2 tablespoons
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  • Place the cooked shrimp on a plate. Pat dry with a paper towel until any excess moisture us removed from the shrimp. Chop the shrimp into small bite-sized pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
  • In another mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, pepper, and fresh parsley. Mix well to combine.
  • To the chopped shrimp, add the celery and pour the dressing over. Toss the salad well to combine, making sure each piece of shrimp is coated in the sauce.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Sprinkle with a pinch of Old Bay again before serving.
  • Serve this salad over a bed of mixed greens, on toasted split-top buns, in lettuce cups, or in a wrap.

Notes

Additions and Substitutions
  • Add 2 tablespoons of chopped red onion to the mix for a spicier flavor. You could also add sliced green onions to the salad or as a garnish.
  • Instead of mayonnaise you can use sour cream or Miracle Whip.
  • For a spicier version, add a little cayenne pepper, hot sauce, or red pepper flakes to the dressing.
  • For a brighter flavor, add a teaspoon of lemon zest to the shrimp salad dressing.
  • If you don't have parsley, you can use fresh dill.
