Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium shrimp peeled, deveined, and cooked
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup celery finely diced
  • 1 lemon juiced, about 2 tablespoons
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls

Method

  1. Place the cooked shrimp on a plate. Pat dry with a paper towel until any excess moisture us removed from the shrimp. Chop the shrimp into small bite-sized pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
  2. In another mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, pepper, and fresh parsley. Mix well to combine.
  3. To the chopped shrimp, add the celery and pour the dressing over. Toss the salad well to combine, making sure each piece of shrimp is coated in the sauce.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Sprinkle with a pinch of Old Bay again before serving.
  5. Serve this salad over a bed of mixed greens, on toasted split-top buns, in lettuce cups, or in a wrap.

Notes

Additions and Substitutions
  • Add 2 tablespoons of chopped red onion to the mix for a spicier flavor. You could also add sliced green onions to the salad or as a garnish.
  • Instead of mayonnaise you can use sour cream or Miracle Whip.
  • For a spicier version, add a little cayenne pepper, hot sauce, or red pepper flakes to the dressing.
  • For a brighter flavor, add a teaspoon of lemon zest to the shrimp salad dressing.
  • If you don't have parsley, you can use fresh dill.
